The very first carving of a walking stick I've ever done.
It has a maple base and attached cottonwood bark carving of a small fort:
The fort is done in the round and hollowed inside:
5 meters of leather string was used for the holding area, it also made a nicer transition between the bark and the maple base:
The work in progress, two pieces of bark with roughly done shape and hollowed windows - glued together at this moment so the finished shape will hide the connection between the two pieces:
