A village not far from here - gallery

The gallery exhibition at The Guild in Charlottetown, PEI - A village not far from here.

It's been the very first artistic collaboration between myself and my partner Alana. I have done 15 cottonwood bark carvings of various sizes and she created watercolour paintings to complete the pieces.
She also made all the frames which added to the character of the whole exhibition.

“The bond that we make with the land is always there when we need it. The landscape is our muse and our home, full of sparks of imagination and familiarity. Small carved whimsical houses nestled in the wispy hills of a watercolour landscape are where we find two worlds intertwined, the place we inhabit and the world of the hidden people. Their Village is never too far from here.”
