My sixth carving named ''Home is where the Heart is'' which was also the only carving I put into the wood carving show and competition this past weekend.
It is carved in 22 inches tall piece of cottonwood bark and it is so far the most detailed one.
The heart is once again finished with a light touch of gel stain so it is easily noticed.
The bark was behaving quite funny during the carving and I ended up with a smaller heart than what I was going for. As a result it almost seems that the heart can be removed, luckily it cannot - darn, that would spoil all the work!
